Hello! My name is Hannah Calderazzo, and I am a published writer and experienced editor of a variety of works, as well as a lover of Jane Austen and fantasy novels. I am currently temping as a Managing Editorial Assitant for Vintage Books and Anchor Books at the multinational publishing company Penguin Random House (PRH). Some of my primary tasks include designing and creating back ads for initials and reprints, processing backlist text and cover changes/corrections, and creating bound galley materials for both physical prints and egalleys. This opportunity with PRH arose after interning with Vintage Books and Anchor Books in Fall 2022. During my Managing Editorial internship, I copyedited and proofread mechs, newsletters, and other materials for the imprint; managed metadata into SAP; and personally updated over thirty John Grisham novels to prepare them for reprinting. I also interned in the Acquisitions department at the University Press of Florida for several months, where I first learned about the publishing process and performed a myriad of other duties, such as reviewing manuscripts and writing reader reports, drafting contracts, and acting as a liaison between the Press and its authors. In addition to my publishing internships, I have taken the course “Copyediting and Proofreading for Books” through the NYU School of Professional Studies, finishing the class with an “A.” I am passionate about writing and working with books, and am seeking to expand my experience in the fields of publishing, creative writing, and other communications. When not enjoying a novel or attempting embroidery, you can find me working on my next project.
